Noto
In a bid to remove all tofu from the web (the little black rectangles that display when a font character is missing), Google have teamed up with Monotype to create the most universal typeface yet; Noto.
'Noto helps to make the web more beautiful across platforms for all languages.'
At the moment Noto covers over 30 scripts, 800 languages and will cover all of Unicode in the future as the team completed development of the typeface that has been 5 years in the making to date. The idea included the design of a typeface that is harmonious across all language and uses, and crafted to beautify any text need. Slick work.
