Dishoom
Our new favourite London fuelling station Dishoom KX brings a mouth-watering taste of Bombay's Iranian cafes and visual style of a late 1920's railway transit shed to the ever developing heart of Kings Cross thanks to &Smith consultancy. The creative magicians behind the brand story worked hard to achieve an authentic design language that is much a part of Dishoom's success as the Gunpowder Potatoes.
The King’s Cross branch imagines a young Irani (an Iranian immigrant to India) in 1928, who sees the opportunity to start selling Chai to railway workers “and slowly builds a ramshackle Iranian restaurant,” according to &Smith, which says: “Dishoom King’s Cross is this restaurant decades later, now established, even something of an institution, and still serving the local people, railwaymen and office workers of the local area.”
If you get chance go and check it out. You won't be disappointed.
